3D_Evolution Viewer

In today’s challenging environment, companies that have implemented 3D CAD applications are now looking for ways to share 3D data without having to purchase multiple CAD licenses.  Downstream applications and resources do not need to make changes; they only need to view the 3D data.   The question is why?  

In some cases, it is to understand the quality standards and requirements from an OEM.  3D_Evolution has the ability to check for up to 36 categories - tiny elements and segments, G1 and G2 Continuity, large gaps, free edges and self intersections to name a few.  Export an HTML report file showing the successes and failures.  Take it one step further and utilize the kernel to heal the models based on required standards. 

In other cases, the 3D models are viewed for rotations, zoom and pan, cutting sections and setting transparency.  Questions about 3D data require interrogation to calculate volume and view in wire frame or export to a .jpg.  Companies have even tried standardizing on JT or STEP.   It always comes back to reading, viewing and comparison of the original 3D model. Model Compare & Validation

When there is a change in a 3D model, where has the change been made and how do you find it?  With the model compare module within 3D_Evolution viewer, it will show two parts or assemblies and the differences.   Have the ability to determine if the assembly structure has changed, as well as the ability to compare the assembly structure.

The Thickness Checker

Areas where the wall thickness runs under the defined value are highlighted clearly and can be displayed alone while the values are indicated by a color scale.

VDA Checker

Assures product data quality of your 3D models regardless of format or generating system, implemented in the creation process or controlling your incoming and outgoing CAD data.
Following is the definition of product data quality, on which this set of guidelines is based:

Product data quality is a measure of the accuracy and appropriateness of product data combined with the timeliness with which those data are provided to all the people who need them.

From this we can state that good product data quality means providing the right data to the right people at the right time.

The certified 3D_Evolution© VDA Checker verifies all 3D geometries independent of the CAD format. It is the only 3D Viewer that is certified in accordance with SASSIG/PDQ and VDA 4955/2 specifications.

Depending upon the application or customer requirements, testing profiles containing the relevant testing criteria can be saved. The result is in conformity with SASSIG/PDQ and VDA 4955/2 specifications and can be saved in an html format. Similar to all other modules, the Quality Checker can be applied for individual parts or assemblies.  Failures are visualized and accurately displayed on the model.
